Product Basics

The basic design of gas seals corresponds to conventional mechanical seals, the difference being that the sliding faces are not liquid-but gas-lubricated and thus run contact-free due to the sophisticated geometry of the V- or U- grooves in the sliding faces. Even with a minimum number of revolutions a stable gas film builds up in the sealing gap, which guarantees contact-free and abrasion-proof running. Ranges of applications for Burgmann gas seals: DGS for compressors up to 350 bar, CGS for pumps, AGS for slow running agitators.
